Registration Fees

Fees paid cover the following items:

Bodysuit for under uniform, Hair Bow, Bloomers, Socks, 1 Practice Shirt, Breast Cancer Awareness Bow and the use of a Seahawks Uniform which will be returned at the end of the season. There will be a uniform deposit of $150 held by check upon receiving the uniform. This deposit is not cashed unless you DO NOT return your uniform at the end of the season. The only additional mandatory fee will be the purchase of cheer shoes. These shoes are to be purchased by the Cheerleader. Information will be given at the first meeting.

 

 

Registration Refunds

Unfortunately due to the fact that we must order all necessary cheer merchandise at the beginning of the season refunds for merchandise will not be available after the first practice. Refunds for your child’s participation will not be available after the second week of practices. Once again we do understand that situations arise and note that for special circumstances refunds will be given.

 

 

Squads

The Catonsville Seahawks Cheerleading program is broken into a number of squads dictated by age groups. The age groups are determined by your Cheerleaders age of August 1, 2015. Our expected age groups for this season are 4-5, 6-8, 8-10 and 11-14 (possible 10-12). Your cheerleader will be placed in the appropriate group dictated by age.

 

 

Practices

Practices begin on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 6:00PM. Catonsville Seahawks Cheerleading will practice every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6-8 PM from July 29 – August 27. Beginning September 2 we will practice on Wednesdays only from 6-8 PM. Beginning Oct 7 we will resume Wednesday and Thursday evening practices from 6-8PM to get ready for our Nov 9 competition. Our program practices at Catonsville Elementary School. Please understand that practices are not voluntary. We expect that each cheerleader will give her all at each practice and will attend the majority of practices. We understand the occasional need to miss a practice but hope it does not become a habit.

 

 

Paperwork

Registration Form and fee are due at the time of registration. All other paperwork is due at our first practice on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 6:00PM. The paperwork due for the season is:

Cheerleader Rules/Guidelines

*Please also note that ALL Cheerleaders must have a valid Maryland ID card to participate in our program. These ID cards can be obtained at any MVA including the Express one in Columbia. You will need to be sure to take with you your child’s birth certificate, social security card, parent/legal guardian and of course your Cheerleader.  These ID’s are no longer being given to you at the time of purchase they are now being mailed to you. If you will be participating in the program please plan to get your ID card at least 6 weeks prior to our first practice date.

 

 

Games

Catonsville Seahawks Cheerleading cheers at weekend games for the Catonsville Stars Football teams. Games are usually held on Saturday’s but may include an occasional Friday evening game depending on the availability of fields within the Football organization. We expect that each cheerleader will attend these games on a weekly basis. Again we understand the need to miss an occasional game but hope that it does not become a habit. We will begin cheering at games beginning the last weekend in August. Due to the fact that we will have one night a week practices every team will meet 1 hour prior to game time to complete a half time routine.

 

 

Competition

Catonsville Seahawks Cheerleading attends an annual local competition. All of our age groups participate in this competition. We will be competing against other park and recreation cheerleading teams within the Maryland Football and Cheerleading Association. All cheerleaders are expected to participate in this competition. If you feel your cheerleader will not be able to compete please let us know in the beginning of the season. Each cheerleader will begin to learn the routine for competition early in the season. Competition will be held in November the date is still TBD. Some groups may also decide to attend another local competition that is free for participants. More information on this will come as we get closer to competition.

 

 

Fundraisers

We are currently looking into a new fundraiser option. More information to come with this as the season begins.

The Catonsville Seahawks Cheerleading program will offer a variety of Seahawks Cheer apparel for this season. Our orders will be done online this season and information will be given at the first practice.

Important Dates

 

July 29 – 6:00 PM First night of practice and mandatory parents meeting

 

August 5 – Sizing will take place during practice for the younger teams

 

August 6 – Sizing will take place during practice for the older teams

 

September 2 – We begin Wednesday night practices only

 

October 7 – Resume Wednesday and Thursday evening practices

 

November TBD – Competition held

 

 

Mandatory Parents Meeting

This year we will be hosting a mandatory parents meeting on July 29, 2015 (first practice). This meeting is where you will turn in the remainder of your necessary information to us. During this time we will be giving out any further information that you should receive for the season. Again the remainder of your paperwork is due at this time. If you are unable to attend for any reason please contact Jaclyn Lilly by email at catonsvillestars@hotmail.com to make further arrangements. You may also email us with any questions you may have. If you do not contact us and you do not attend we will assume that you and your cheerleader are not interested in participating in our program.
